Avec une cinquantaine de nominations d’artistes québécois.es, le Québec sera bien représenté, cette année, lors de la 53e cérémonie des prix Juno 2024.
C’est d’ailleurs la Montréalaise Charlotte Cardin qui est l’artiste la plus citée, avec six nominations dont celles du choix du public, du meilleur album, de l’artiste, de l’auteur.rice-compositeur.rice, de l’album pop et du single de l’année. Les Ontariens Daniel Caesar et TALK suivent la chanteuse avec cinq nominations chacun.
Parmi les dizaines d’artistes nommé.es provenant du Québec, on retrouve la Montréalaise Allison Russell, gagnante d’un prix Grammy cette année pour la meilleure performance roots americana, avec trois nominations dans les catégories de l’auteur.rice-compositeur.rice, de l’album roots contemporain et du vidéoclip de l’année. Yannick Nézet-Séguin, également gagnant d’un prix Grammy pour le meilleur disque opéra cette année, est nommé pour les catégories de l’album classique de l’année avec l’Orchestre Métropolitain et le Philadelphia Orchestra.
Alexandra Stréliski, Elisapie, Men I Trust, Dominique Fils-Aimé et Waahli sont aussi nommé.es pour les catégories respectives : Album Instrumental de l’année et Album de l’année, Artiste ou groupe autochtone contemporain de l’année, Groupe révolutionnaire de l’année, Album de jazz vocal de l’année et Album de musique globale de l’année.
Pour la catégorie Album francophone de l’année, les artistes nommé.es sont FouKi, Karkwa, Les Cowboys Fringants & l’Orchestre symphonique de Montréal, Salebarbes et Souldia.
La cérémonie se tiendra le 24 mars à Halifax et sera animée par la chanteuse Nelly Furtado.
